Interested in a great summer job or challenging career as a professional lifeguard? Through videos, group discussion and hands-on practice, you’ll learn teamwork, rescue and surveillance skills, First Aid and CPR/AED and other skills you need to work as a professional lifeguard. Training options feature two core courses—Lifeguarding and Shallow Water Lifeguarding (available in a blended learning format). Successful completion results in a 2-year certification in Lifeguarding that includes first aid, professional-level CPR and AED in one certificate. Digital certificate available upon successful completion of course.
BLENDED LEARNING CLASS
In addition to the pool side work the student will complete, the class also includes online coursework that must be completed by the student.
Must be 15 years of age by the conclusion of the class.
300 yard continuous swim using front crawl and backstroke.
Tread water by only using legs for 2 minutes.
Swim 20 yards, surface dive and retrieve a 10 pound object from a depth of 7 to 10 feet.
Return to surface and swim on back to the starting point.

Lifeguard Instructor Training
There must be a minimum of 6 participants registered one week before the class begins or it will be canceled.
IMPORTANT: All registration fees are non-refundable and there is a $36 fee which goes directly to the American Red Cross.
The primary purpose of the American Red Cross Basic Lifeguarding Instructor Course is to train instructors to teach the basic-level American Red Cross Lifeguarding courses. Complete Course Description
1. Be at least 17 years old on or before the final scheduled session of the course.
2. Possess a current basic-level certification in Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED.
3. Successfully complete the online Introduction to the Lifeguarding Instructor Course prior to the precourse skills session via the class roster and online content completion status report.
4. Obtain all instructor and participant materials before entering the first session of the instructor course which consist of the following:
American Red Cross Lifeguarding Instructors Manual (print).
Lifeguarding course presentation and/or DVD.
American Red Cross Lifeguarding Manual (print or digital).
